I just wanted to thank everyone I was able to meet and allowed me in their homes to introduce myself and share my passion for the city. We have a long way to go as is evidenced by the election results, but we can with effort and energy still take back our city with energy and the desire to end corruption.
I learned the third party is not an option for many people because it requires thinking outside the box. I respect people's beliefs and how they voted. I understand their "safe" choices.
Of course I'm not done. I met too many people and really felt a need exists. I will be putting out a weekly email newsletter of everything that happened at council meetings in a concise easy manner to read that is quick and informative. That back story is needed for citizens to make informed decisions.
My site will remain up and anyone can sign up for my mailing list. Now more than ever we need someone who is going to be on the citizen's side in these matters even if I'm not at the table. I think I will get intimately acquainted with referendum petitions because you haven’t seen anything yet. Every tax scheme already tried or not even imagined yet will come down the pike and nobody is left to say no.
In two years, we will see a different voting public.
