New Secretary to LNWC Council
8/7 -- Joyce Early of Lorain has been appointed to serve as the Secretary to the Executive Committee of the Lorain Neighborhood Watch Council. She replaces Melanie Szabo, First Ward Councilwoman. Melanie had to resign due to her committements on council, returning to work on her education, and familiy responsibilties. Joyce is a very active Block Watch Captain on the west side of Lorain. Back to School-"Do The Right Thing" Festival
8/3 -- The LNWC will have a booth at the "Do The Right Thing" Festival to be held Saturday, August 16, 2008 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Black River Landing in Lorain. This will provide a great opportunity to get the word out to parents and children that we need to "Take Back Our Neighborhoods". We will be having a couple of hands on activities for children at this event.

7/30 -- The National Night Out Picnic is set for Lorain. The date is Saturday, August 30, 2008 from 12 Noon to 2:00pm in the large gazebo at Lakeview Park.

The Lorain Police Department Launches On-line Crime Alerting and Mapping Service
7/15 -- 7/14 The Lorain Police Department and CrimeReports.com have announced a new On-line Crime Alerting and Mapping Service that provides easy to read incident crime maps and automated alerts to the citizens of Lorain. The service, located at www.crimereports.com or directly from the Lorain Police Department Web site, provides neighborhood crime data in near real-time and is available now.
