FAQ's
Important
NEW Rule:
There will be No -
Hard Cleated Shoes
or Gulf Spikes to try and gain an advantage.
Remember: Even
though the competition can get very
escalated, many people are
bare-footed and you could cause serious
damage to someone's foot
if you accidentally step on someone's
foot or ankle.
-
How
many teams are you taking this year?
We again
expanded the tournament. 2007 we
took approx. 120 teams and 2008 we
are looking to expand even
more. We are working with the Mayor to improve
the fields and expand the Island
tournament and return it to its
original, festive state.
-
Where
on the Island will the tournament be
held?
There are 2
locations that we run the tournament
on. The property just before you
get into town (on the left of the main
road). And the Baseball Diamond
by the High School.
-
Does
everyone have to Check-IN?
Yes, all members
of your team must sign the waivers
before participating in the Put-In-Bay
Volleyball Tournament.
-
Is
there an open division?
Yes, we do have
an open division at the Tournament
that we are running near Downtown.
-
Where
is the Location of the Tourney?
We will be using 2 fields that are
owned by the Mayor of
Put-In-Bay. They are on the
corner as you are entering the Down
Town Portion of Put-In-Bay. I'm
told that the past few were held
there.
-
Are
there T-shirts for everyone?
No,
beginning this year we want our
t-shirts to become part of our prize
packages for 1st and 2nd Places for
all Divisions.
-
Will
there be any T-Shirts for Sale?
Yes,
we do understand that many people come
to the tournament because of the
Island draw. So extra tournament
shirts will be made to accommodate the
collectors as well as the avid
players.
-
How
do I Know we are registered?
If
you have mailed in your
check (that is conclusive that you
have a spot for your team)
We
WILL
NOT BE
calling teams if you are in the
tournament, however, if your team is
closed out for any reason, we will
contact someone on your team
ASAP.
If you send out your
info closer to the tourney deadline
date, you may want to keep checking
with us, because we will probably not
be able to accommodate all teams that
register.
-
What
is Pre-Registration all about?
We
have decided to move the
pre-registration over to ????TBA?????
This is a
newer establishment that is
willing to work with us.
Pre-Registration; Your team may
check in and sign waivers the night
before the tournament and your net
will be assigned to you at that
time. If
your team is checked in FULL (all
players signed the mass waiver),
then you may avoid check-in the day of
tournament. If one person is not
there, only he will have to register
for the team the next morning,
however, the team is not fully checked
in until he/she signs the last waiver
spot. We are in the
process of working out possibly an
Extended "Happy Hour",
Discount on Food if you're
participating in the tourney along
with the possibly of other
perks. If you have someone that
hasn't signed a waiver, your team may
not start until he/she does at
check-in, in the morning
