3/25 -- The Ruth M. Aikey Memorial Scholarship is a four-year full-tuition scholarship for promising individuals who are current residents of either Amherst, Avon, Avon Lake, Berea, Birmingham, Brookpark, Columbia Station, Elyria, Grafton, Kipton, LaGrange, Lorain, Middleburg Heights, North Ridgeville, Oberlin, Olmsted Falls, Rochester, Sheffield Lake, South Amherst, Strongsville, or Wellington in Ohio and are citizens of the United States of America. This scholarship will pay a full four-year tuition for one bachelor degree-seeking recipient per year who is or will be attending Kent State University in either their Early Childhood Education or Middle Childhood Education program major and can show a financial need for receiving this scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be selected based upon their completion of the on-line application, financial need, grades, and answer to the essay question. Applicants must submit a completed application form on-line at http://www.aikeyfoundation.org/. Please ensure that all materials are submitted and received by the Aikey Foundation Inc. (Website | Profile) by the application deadline of no later than 04/01/13. Since 2003, the Aikey Foundation has awarded over $232,441 in scholarships to local students. One new full-tuition scholarship worth an estimated $38,688 will be awarded in 2013. The Aikey Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
