The Lorain County Task Force for the Homeless seeks to eliminate homelessness in Lorain County by assessing the characteristics and needs of the county’s homeless; fostering the development of housing and services to meet these needs; educating citizens and officials about local homelessness; and advocating on behalf of homeless persons.

Clients must between ages 19-65, low income with no form of of private or public insurance. Services offered: Complete medical care and diagnostic services, most medications, all necessary surgery, complete dental care, vision care including lenses.

The department administers imunizations, test and treatments to fight communicable disease. Public health nursing division -developmental questions concerning infants and toddlers. Medicaid outreach program-provides health insurance card to children and pregnant women.

The ‘ Resource Mothers Program’ of Community Health Partners is designed to improve and enhance family life by providing health-related information and resources to expectant parents before, during and after birth to promote healthier babies. The Resource Mothers are certified as Community Health Workers, and services are available in Spanish.
