Sheffield: Candidates Night Oct. 29
October 28, 2009 --
Sheffield Lake/Sheffield Village Candidates for the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake school board seats and village council will open themselves to public questioning Oct. 29, 2009.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Complex (Website | Profile), 4340 Colorado Ave., Sheffield Village. Moderator for the event will be Peter Comings, editor for The Press of Avon Lake.
Candidates are in the process of confirming their attendance.
The format for the event will be that of a town hall meeting. Candidates will be asked to give brief introductions, after which the floor will be given to guests in attendance to ask questions. Answers and any rebuttal will be monitored by the moderator for time keeping and to give all candidates a chance to participate.
"We invite voters to come out to take advantage of this chance," said Comings. "This should be a great opportunity to learn more about where candidates stand on issues in the time running up to the Nov. 3 election."
Among those attending will be school board candidates Sheila Lopez, Gloria Behrendt, and Skip Scarpelli; as well as council candidates Leo Sheets, Walter Min, and Matt Bliss.
