If the new way doesn't work (for some reason), we could always revert, but it definitely appears the current way is not working well and has only resulted in a dual bureaucracy (commissioners and administrator and assistant) that is an ever-increasing expense to the taxpayers in the county. And yes, make the effort non-partisan. It is not one party versus another trying to grab control, but the taxpayers of both parties versus an inefficient and costly method of county government.
