I would be all for that. If the new way doesn't work (for some reason), we could always revert, but it definitely appears the current way is not working well and has only resulted in a dual bureaucracy (commissioners and administrator and assistant) that is an ever-increasing expense to the taxpayers in the county.
And yes, make the effort non-partisan. It is not one party versus another trying to grab control, but the taxpayers of both parties versus an inefficient and costly method of county government.
