Why would you like to be elected?
I have been involved at City Hall for 15 years by attending meetings and gaining knowledge of all aspects of city government. The rapid growth within the city requires an overall understanding of the many issues we are facing. The more I learn and the longer I serve the community, the better equipped I am to represent the people within the city, and in particular those who reside in Ward 1, the ward experiencing the vast majority of growth and change.

What would you like to accomplish if elected?
Encouraging business to come into the community takes top priority to strengthen the tax base; the widening of Center Ridge and Lear Nagle roads are essential to move the traffic efficiently throughout the city; I would like to see stricter architectural requirements on new commercial construction.

How do you think Internet technology will impact government services?
The internet is an invaluable tool to provide information to residents in the city. City Council minutes are currently available; meetings are listed; the Codified Ordinances of the city are readily available via the internet, eliminating unnecessary trips to City Hall to request information; and soon the ability to pay bills online will be available to the residents. Also, as a service to the community, the opinion pages of Loraincounty.com have afforded the residents the opportunity to express ideas and concerns on the government pages of their individual communities.

What one bit of information do people not normally know about you?
lthough it is not a requirement on the part of members of City Council, I have made it a point to attend all committee meetings and Planning Commission meetings to be fully informed concerning issues which come before City Council for consideration. I also attend as many government classes as possible at LCCC. This is the most efficient way I have found to make well-thought-out decisions to effectively serve the community as an elected official.
