| Why would
you like to be elected? |
| I would like to be elected because I feel my passion and energy would lend well to helping my ward accomplish its goals. I'm hands on and follow through with what I start. My experience and knowledge of history and government would bring a fresh perspective to city council. I'm a champion for the Constitution and love to see my neighbors enjoying liberty, freedom and low taxes. |
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
| I would like to accomplish improved communication above all things. My neighbors are not currently engaged in the political process and are not informed as to what is happening not only with their tax dollars but the laws enacted in their own city. I would like to be that vehicle to communicate the important changes their elected officials are enacting right under their noses. My website would post weekly changes that effect my neighbors. Citizens engaged in the process take ownership of their community and are empowered. They make better voting decisions and are happier when they know the truth. I would like to open the doors to city hall and let my neighbors join in the political process and feel once again their voices count. |
| How do
you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| If we start utilizing technology it can make a world of difference. Our own city website needs to be the gateway or welcome mat to new businesses and new neighbors. We should have a call to action on the website that intrigues new homeowners and businesses to check out what we have to offer and provide demographic and marketing materials to prospective neighbors. The city website should be the 24/7 cheerleader for everything great in Lorain. Like any business, a strong marketing plan is needed. Technology allows us to create a vision that only people who live here can capture, we need to utilize the talent that lives right here in our city from incredible local photographers and artists to talented musicians; our wealth is in our people. We need to showcase how culturally rich we are using technology. |
| What
one bit of information do people not normally know about you? |
| I'm very mechanical, I can fix anything including the kitchen sink, my car, or my lawnmower. I can name most of the parts of a car engine and explain how they work. I've changed light fixtures, laid hard wood floors, changed plumbing fixtures and even done drywall. I've also done landscaping and like to get my hands dirty in the garden and I can still get dressed up and look like a lady. |
