| Why would
you like to be elected? |
| Ward 4 is as diverse as any ward in the city and over the last 2 years I have grown to feel personally responsible for the residents. I ran in 05 in order to help improve things in Vermilion. In two years, for a variety of reasons, that job is barely started. But we are headed in the right direction and I think I can help us get closer. |
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
| The VOL sanitary sewer re-lining is critical to the health and safety of the residents of Ward 4 and should be accomplished during the next two years. This EPA mandated project is going to cost the residents quite a bit even though grant and city money will soften the blow. It will be important to educate the citizens, minimize the construction impact, and generally be sensitive to individual issues. We also need to examine sources of funding for the badly needed road maintenance program that is years overdue. And we need to start using the advanced technology products for concrete street repair that council has so far refused to fund. If you can create better solutions for less money, why wouldn’t you? |

you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| Internet technology is a modern tool we can use to better communicate with each other and with our government. Technology improvements make gathering and disseminating information easier for government, business and individuals alike. Due to recent advances in internet technology, our city government has just implemented a VOIP telephone system and city-wide network that is a communication enhancement and cost reduction all rolled into one. |

one bit of information do people not normally know about you? |
| I understand that on the blogs, my detracters like to say that they can tell when I am lying because I blink a lot. They must think I lie constantly! Actually I have a nuisance condition called Benign Essential Blepharospasms and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. No lie! |
