| Why would
you like to be elected? |
| I am running to establish a proactive change for our schools and our children. I am committed to developing a positive image for the district and increasing student, teacher, and community morale through effective communication and well informed decisions on all school issues. I believe it is important for all school employees, leaders, and the Board of Education to come together and work with city leaders and the community, toward a better school system for our children. |
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
Increasing academic performance and student success
Establishing and maintaining a fiscally
sound annual operating budget
Insuring regular evaluation of the schools and the Board of Education
Engaging the community in strategic planning and continuous improvement
Improving the morale of students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel
Ensuring the progress of the district’s continuous improvement in education
Continuous involvement in district
wide activities, individual school functions, and extracurricular activities
The safety and security of the students, teachers, and all school staff is and should always be the primary focus and issue of the greatest importance. However, I feel that as a school district it is extremely important to restore the community’s confidence and trust in our district. We need to re-develop and increase the district’s curriculum to include vocational courses, fine arts programs, and other electives, at all levels, to positively promote our district and to give families many reasons to bring their children into our schools. The expansion of the curriculum would ultimately mean an increase in enrollment which would create a necessity for more high-quality educators to meet the needs of all students. |
| How do
you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| Technology is an intergral piece to communicating with the community. Loraincounty.com and the womblog are two excellent local websites to get updated information and get connected to the public. |
| What
one bit of information do people not normally know about you? |
| I have been coaching in Lorain county for the past 11 yrs. |
