Why would you like to be elected?
I am a candidate because I enjoy public service. I’ve been involved in local government and civic affairs for more than forty years and feel that my understanding of the issues as a member of Oberlin City Council, past Chairman of the Oberlin Zoning Board of Appeals, Secretary/Treasurer and Board Member of OCIC the Oberlin Community Improvement Corporation will contribute to the enhancement of Oberlin. I intend to place a high priority on ETHICS, EFFICIENCY and EFFECTS in out local government and I will devote my full energies into making Oberlin a better community in witch to live.

What would you like to accomplish if elected?
Current challenges confronting Oberlin are our Water and Electric Utility improvements. As a councilman I will want to evaluate each proposal on its own merit with an open mind as to how these decisions will affect the entire community. In brief: I am concerned how council spends taxpayer moneys and how council establishes priorities. My main concerns are adequate public services, facilities and maintenance by responsible spending. I believe in planned growth, sensible economic development and ethics in local government. Good planning reaches an improved balance between the cost of growth and its benefits and most residents support managed planning.

How do you think Internet technology will impact government services?
The internet is already having a positive impact on local government and residents can go to http://www.cityofoberlin.com/ to learn about City Council proceedings, Commission meetings, building codes and many other areas that directly affect their health and wellbeing.
