| Why would
you like to be elected? |
We have made good progress in the last few years that I have been on Council in providing excellent city services, lowering water rates that citizens pay and not increasing taxes. Amherst has been a great place to live and to raise our family. I am happy to show my appreciation for Amherst, by continuing to serve on Council working to make sure that Amherst maintains its wonderful quality of life. Amherst is at a crucial juncture. We must limit growth to maintain undeveloped areas for parks, and control developments so that they don't detract from our attractive atmosphere.
|
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
The most important issue for Amherst at this time is to control our growth, and maintain quality city services and minimize taxes on citizens. Our residential population is reaching its maximum capability to maintain our quality of life. City leaders must work diligently to limit residential developments in the city. We must also control commercial developments to make sure that they are in appropriate settings, are attractive and consistent with our city’s standards, and do not adversely affect neighborhoods, and not cause traffic congestion. We must also support our downtown merchants, as they provide our city's vital central core.
|
| How do
you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| We have worked in Amherst to use Internet Technology to improve city services and to limit cost of services. |
| What
one bit of information do people not normally know about you? |
| I travel throughout the United States enabling non-profit organizations to raise millions of dollars for good causes |
