| Why would
you like to be elected? |
| I believe Lorain county residents are ready for a change, new ideas, new faces. When a person is in office for many years, a person tends to get too comfortable and things do not get done, costly mistakes are made, taxpayers suffer. I feel I could bring new ideas and get things moving and done. |
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
| I would like to get back the respect and trust of the residents of Lorain county, I really feel that has been lost in the past several years, people just do not trust the government now a days. Once the trust & respect is gained, with the cooperation with one or two of the commissioners, the work of creating jobs, economic development, etc, can get done. |
| How do
you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| Internet technology will continue to help government to improve their "service" to their citizens. Advances in internet technology for example have enabled local government the ability to receive, collate and monitor statistical information that they can use to combat fraud and manage the local economy in a more informed way. Internet technology has also created new medium and audiences through which government service can disseminate their information efficiently and cheaply. Internet technology has also enabled people with disabilities such as those who are blind, visually impaired, or others to be able to enjoy access to sources of information and ways of communicating with government services they may not have had the opportunity to use before. |
| What
one bit of information do people not normally know about you? |
| I decided to run for commissioner a few years ago. Why? because when I worked the streets of Lorain Ohio as a patrol officer (31 yrs of service) before retiring, I seen businesses closing, widows boarded up, people losing jobs, as time went by other cities were facing the same problems in Lorain county. I now what its like to be poor, lose your job, having some of your possessions repossessed. I came from a family of 10, one parent (mother), I'm proud to say my mother has done very well, we kept out of trouble and all are doing well. I honestly believe I could make a difference as your commissioner. Lorain county the way it is, people out of jobs really bothered me, Lorain county was a great county once, I was born and raised in Lorain county. I know I can't bring the county back the way it was about 30 or 40 years ago, but with this in my mind I know I will try very hard to bring a better life to the residents of Lorain county. I do not have the money, or the help, or the party support like the incumbent, but I feel confident that I will win this election. |
