| Why would
you like to be elected? |
| I want to bring Federal Enterprise Zones to Northeast Ohio to give businesses a reason to bring new jobs here. I want to aggressively use my seat in Congress to attract new jobs to Northeast Ohio. I want to provide greater protection for families and bring more federal education dollars to Northeast Ohio. I want to give young people a reason to stay in Northeast Ohio by creating more opportunities thus reversing the population and job declines of the last 25 years. |
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
| Most successful economic regions of the United States benefit from Congressmen who are aggressively involved in recruiting new businesses to their districts. Unfortunately, Northeast Ohio has not enjoyed that type of capabilities from its members of Congress or local politicians for that matter. Currently in many cases, Northeast Ohio doesn’t even get to the starting line when it comes to competing with other regions for new jobs. I want to use my seat in Congress to help Northeast Ohio become more competitive in attracting new jobs. In addition, we have to improve our educational system and bringing more federal funding for education to Northeast Ohio through federal block grants will be an asset. Aggressive Congressional involvement and an improved educational system are key steps to enable the 13th District to get back in the race for new jobs. |
| How do
you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| The internet provides people access to information and knowledge is power. The more transparent we make government, the more we empower our citizens. In addition, as a small business owner, the internet provides quick access to information regarding government services and requirements. Again, information is power and the internet should help streamline the process if government constructs websites that our easy to navigate. However, governments should always remain mindful that information on citizens should remain confidential. |
| What
one bit of information do people not normally know about you? |
| I know that Northeast Ohio is a great place to live, work and raise a family. I believe that so strongly that we relocated our business here. We were involved in a serious automobile accident and after researching many areas, we decided that Northeast Ohio was the right place for our family to rebuild our lives and the right place for my business. It is the best decision we ever made. |
