| Why would
you like to be elected? |
I want to use my experience in public service to provide a strong and effective voice in Washington for the people in the 13th district, particularly on issues such as:
- ending our involvement in the war in Iraq;
- stopping the export of good American jobs;
- enacting economic policies which protect and restore American manufacturing;
- providing health care for all;
- enacting a prescription drug program for senior that really works;
- opposing any privatization of Social Security
|
| What
would you like to accomplish if elected? |
- End our involvement in the war in Iraq. Bring all our troops home within 90 days, with no bases left after we leave.
- Stop the export of American jobs by enacting tariffs on any country that's selling us more manufactured goods than they buy from us.
- Cancel NAFTA, CAFTA and similar "free trade" agreements.
- Enact a health care program for everyone, modeled on Medicare for all regardless of age, based on payroll taxes on employers and employees.
- Develop genuine prescription drug coverage for seniors (eliminate the "donut hole," and end control by insurance companies);
- Oppose any privatization of Social Security.

| How do
you think Internet technology will impact government services? |
| At its best, it has the potential to help make government more open and responsive to the needs of citizens; it can also be used by members of the community to organize more effectively to demand more from government. On the other hand, the technology can also be subverted by the government to conduct illegal surveillance against Americans, such as the President has done with the NSA. |
