Why would you like to be elected?
I learned to value community service at an early age due to the example of my father, J. Grant Keys. Having been the Democratic nominee for Elyria Municipal Court in 2003 and having become thoroughly familiar with the operations and demands of the Court of Common Pleas by serving as judidicial staff attorney for the past 15 years, I am well-prepared to take the bench as Judge in the Court of Common Pleas.

What would you like to accomplish if elected?
I want to continue to remember that no matter how big or small a case may be, it is the most important thing in the world to the people who are affected.

I want to extend compassion for victims of crime that I developed while working for the Ohio Attorney General Crime Victims Section.

I have earned respect from lawyers and judges alike through my work in the Court of Common Pleas and I want to maintain the high level of esteem that I enjoy.

I will enhance the public's trust and confidence in the judicial system by following both the letter and spirit of the Code of Judicial Conduct.

How do you think Internet technology will impact government services?
Providing public information in an efficient and cost-effective manner is an important role of the court. The internet enables instantaneous access to public information. Clerk of Courts Ron Nabakowski has been a leader in making court records and hearing schedules available online and we should continue to maximize the use of the internet to serve the public interest.

What one bit of information do people not normally know about you?
I was in the same high school graduating class (1970) at Elyria Catholic as Lorain County Auditor Mark Stewart and Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will. In junior year, I was class president.
