LCMT Wins Big in the 2016 BroadwayWorld Cleveland Awards

January 8, 2017 — In the recently announced 2016 BroadwayWorld Cleveland Awards, July 2016 production of 'Into the Woods' was the BIGGEST winner! 'Into the Woods' won in six out of seven possible musical theatre categories. According to BroadwayWorld.com, there was a record number of votes cast in 2016. Most categories had more than 25,000 votes, with only one vote per person.

Lorain Community Music Theater is thrilled and honored with the multiple awards which include:

* Best Production of a Musical

* Best Actress in a Musical - Lorain's Marlene Karpinski (The Witch)

* Best Director of a Musical - Lorain's Dr. Ted Williams

* Best Music Director of a Musical - Anthony Trifiletti

* Best Choreographer of a Musical - Pamela Shirtz

* Best Costume Design of a Musical - Lorain's Claudette Campana

LCMT's Jeff Kurkjian (Jack) came in second place for Best Actor in a Musical. Also nominated from LCMT's 'Into the Woods' cast of 17 were Corey Knick/Best Actor, Angela Mitchell/Best Actress, Erin Donovan/Best Actress, and Jayne Kacik/Best Actress.

The 'Into the Woods' Production team consisted of:

* Director Dr. Ted Williams

* Music Director Anthony Trifiletti

* Orchestra Director Mike Komperda

* Choreographer Pamela Shirtz

* Stage Manager Julie Billinghurst
