Ken Carney’s 15th Annual Horseshoe Tournament

Horseshoe enthusiasts are encouraged to join Lorain County Engineer, Ken Carney and local officials as they kick–off the 15th Annual North Ridgeville Corn Festival Horseshoe Tournament.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, August 13 beginning at 12:00 noon near the Safetyville building on Bainbridge in North Ridgeville.

Anyone interested in signing up for the tournament, singles and doubles welcome, should stop by South Central Park near the Safetyville complex off of Bainbridge on Friday, August 12th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. or Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the tournament at 12 noon. The entry fee is five dollars per event with all proceeds benefiting the Meal-On-Wheels program provided by the North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults (Senior Center).

“We have horseshoe players from all over the area come out to our tournament,” said Ken Carney, Lorain County Engineer. “It is a pleasure for us to put on this tournament each year so we can give back to the North Ridgeville Community.”

The North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults has received over $2,000 from Ken Carney’s tournament the last four years. “We really appreciate Ken’s thoughtfulness and we want to thank all those who come out and play at this popular tournament,” said Rita Price, Director for the North Ridgeville Senior Center. “This is a great opportunity for horseshoe enthusiasts to come out and have fun while helping seniors in our community.
