PROGRAM $4.6 MILLION BOND PROPOSAL FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS Lorain County Engineer's Office 2007 Festival Schedule 2009 Projects 10/6/08 -- Elyria- The Ohio Public Works Commission District 9 Integrating Committee has approved the list of projects to be funded for 2009; O.P.W.C. District 9 encompasses Huron, Medina & Lorain Counties. The applications and list of projects will be submitted to OPWC in Columbus in early October. full story 2008 Lorain County Fair 8/29/08 -- Ken Carney and the Lorain County Engineer's Office had another successful year at this year's County Fair. Over 120,000 people took advantage of the beautiful weather and made the trip into Wellington to partake in the festivities. full story Bridge rehabilitation project on Durkee Road 8/6/08 -- Eaton Township- Ken Carney, Lorain County Engineer, announced today the construction of a bridge rehabilitation project on Durkee Road located south of Butternut Ridge Road. The project will consist of removing the outside-deteriorated steel beams, placing new beams, new steel decking, and asphalt pavement in work area and updating the guardrail. Griggs Road 9/30/08 -- Rochester Township - Ken Carney, Lorain County Engineer, announced today that Griggs Road just West of Baker Road intersection, will be closed to thru traffic on Tuesday, September 30th., for three weeks(weather permitting) for replacement of a deteriorating road culvert. First on Whitney Road in LaGrange Township , then on Webster Road and Peck Wodsworth Road in Wellington Township .
