Durkee Road Bridge Replacement

Ken Carney- Lorain County Engineer announced today that the contract for the replacement of the Durkee Road Bridge #0354 located just north of State Route 82 in Eaton Township was awarded to the R.J. Reichert Company Inc. of Elyria, Ohio in the amount of $102,671.00. The Engineer’s estimate was $117,000.00.

The existing concrete bridge is deteriorating and will be replaced by R.J. Reichert with concrete box beams. The Ohio Public Works Commission will be funding 89% of the project cost.

The work will commence on June 8th.and to be completed by August 21st. During that time the road will closed and detours will be posted.
