The Southern Satellite Office (SSO) of the Lorain County Office on Aging is a United Way sponsored agency which offers their services to senior residents living in Huntington, Pittsfield, Brighton, Penfield, Wellington, and Rochester Townships. Some of the services offered include Minor Home Repair (including gutter cleaning for one story homes), light housekeeping, CHORE help, home delivered meals, assistance with HEAP and Medicare D application, assistance deciphering medical bills, and transportation to and from medical appointments. In a six month period SSO volunteers transported senior residents over 15, 000 miles to various appointments.
