House Bill 464 provides Common Pleas Clerks of Courts in Ohio with the authority to file certificates of judgments/judgment liens against parties responsible for payment of costs.

Sequence of Events

Court cost and fee statement sent

  • 30 day notice sent
  • 60 day notice sent
  • 90 day notice sent
  • Certificate of Judgment filed

Failure to comply may:

  • Adversely affect your credit
  • Garnishment
  • Attachment
  • Incarceration

Timely payment of court costs can prevent the collections process
