February 17, 2000 — On Saturday, February 19, 2000, from 7:00 - 10:00pm. FAVA (The Firelands Association for the Visual Arts) will sponsor its annual fundraising event, "A Taste of Art", a winetasting and silent art auction. "A Taste of Art" will take place in the FAVA galleries at the New Union Center for the Arts in downtown Oberlin (39 South main Street).

A selection of new wines from California, complemented by hors d'oeuvre, will be presented by the Goodman Beverage Company of Lorain County.

The Silent Auction will feature original artwork by area artists and art related services. Silent auction items include artwork by Deborah Banyas, Audra Skoudas, John Pearson, Don Rabineau, and Mary Owen Rosenthal.

All artwork and other silent auction items will be on exhibit in the FAVA gallery beginning Tuesday, February 15. Bids may be placed during gallery open hours (Noon to 5pm.) any time prior to the close of bidding on Saturday evening.

Tickets are $30/single, or $50/duo, and may be purchased by calling FAVA at 440-774-7158. Proceeds will benefit the exhibition and education programs of The Firelands Association for the Visual Arts, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing public enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts.
