Soul to Sole Shoe Program
Mrs. Campana first came up with the idea for the program after listening to N.B.A. star Stephon Marbury on the Gayle King Show. Marbury was promoting his shoe, the Starbury, which was created as a low cost, high quality competitor to other high dollar shoes on the market. Being very conscious of the economic needs of Lorain County, as well as having knowledge of the programs offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County and the youth it served, Campana knew this would be a great way to reach the children in need. Through the hard work and fundraising efforts of Mrs. Campana, as well as the help of the local Steve & Barry's retail stores - which sell the Starbury shoes exclusively - the Soul to Sole program has been able to provide shoes to over 1,700 youth since May 2007. Along with members of the clubs county wide, Soul to Sole has also worked with both the Lorain and Elyria City Schools in which the Boys & Girls Clubs are affiliated.
