The members of the Board of Revision preside over the formal appeal process. A taxpayer may contest the market value of their real estate, as set by the county auditor, for tax purposes. Board members include the county Treasurer, county Auditor and the President of the Board of Commissioners, or their alternates.
The form for filing a "Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property" is available at the Board of Revision Office from December 15th through March 31st, which is the filing deadline. Only the property owner or attorney may prepare the complaint.
To arrive at a fair and equitable solution, you may be asked to attend a hearing. You may also be requested to supply us with pertinent information, or we may request that an inspection be made of your property.
For more details, the Board of Revision office telephone number is (440) 329-5269 or (440) 244-6261, ext. 5219.
