Laura Zichi

Emily's Make A Wish/Things Remembered Poster 2008
October 17, 2009 -- The 2008 American Cancer Society Living Angels, Laura and her daughter, Emily Zichi, age 9, are holding another fundraiser to benefit families at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital through a fund their family established called “Emily’s Hopeful Holiday”. An Open House will be held at St. Joseph School Social Hall (Website | Profile), 175 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, OH on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The open house will feature seven very generous home show consultants from Silpada Jewelry, Southern Living at Home, Tastefully Simple, Scentsy, Tupperware, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Design By Des Ann (Website | Profile). Commissions from the day’s sale will be donated to Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Fund.

There will also be 45 raffle items. They include donations from over 100 businesses and many are valued well over $75 and above. Tickets are $10 for 10 tickets or 25 tickets for $20. A 50/50 raffle will also be held (6 tickets for $5).

Tickets can be purchased either online beginning on Oct. 24, 2009, through the mail, and at the event. For information, please click here. For those wanting to help but cannot make it to the event, all baskets will be available to be viewed online and tickets can be purchased either online or through the mail. See the website for instructions. Donations are always accepted.

There will also be an Exclusive Prize Basket, valued at over $850, for eligible participants who have spent a minimum of $25 with at least four show hosts. Every $25 spent thereafter, will earn them another ticket(s) for this Exclusive Prize!

Emily Zichi was diagnosed with leukemia at age 7 in April, 2007. Her treatments lasted through June, 2009 and she is now a very proud Cancer Survivor!

The Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Fund’s purpose is to help needy family’s pay bills while their children are being treated at Rainbow. It has helped pay rent, car payments, and utilities since it was established in December, 2007. It is the only fund of its kind at Rainbow.

The mission of this year’s fundraiser is to raise more money to add to the fund so that we can continue to assist needy families pay bills.

Cash donations accepted. Make checks payable to Rainbow/Emily’s Hopeful Holiday and send to St. Joseph School, 175 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, OH, 44001.
