September 2, 2009 -- Amherst City Council At-Large candidate Phil Van Treuren (Website | Profile) announced today that his campaign website, had logged its 2,000th visitor since launching earlier in the year.

"I've been amazed at the amount of interest that PhilVanTreuren.com has generated from Amherst voters and people all around Lorain County," Van Treuren said. "The number of residents who have used the website to learn more about our campaign, and to contact me personally, has really been staggering."

The website includes photos, videos and other interactive features to help educate Amherst voters about the campaign. Many visitors have also used the site to interact with Van Treuren on his personal Facebook and Twitter pages.

"Our website is just one more way to make this campaign as transparent and interactive as possible for every Amherst resident," Van Treuren said. "I'm proud to say that PhilVanTreuren.com is the most comprehensive and user-friendly campaign website in the entire county, and I hope more people will continue to visit."

Van Treuren has personally distributed nearly 12,000 pieces of campaign literature to homes since starting his door-to-door efforts in March. He lives in Amherst (Website | Profile) with his wife, Jessica, and their three children.
