Topic: General Conversation (41,706 views) Title: Issue 4 Keep Our County Safe Message: Issue 4 must pass, we have been paying this tax since the beginning of the year.It is not an increase, just a reinstatement. This extra 23cents a day out of our pockets will put the laid off deputies back on the street, keep the jail and court house running smooth, and most important, keep our county safe. The sheriffs office does more then just patrol the townships, 75%% of their budget is geared towards the cities. They keep track of the near 800 sexual predators that scour the county. Without this issue passing, the sheriffs office wont be able to keep a close eye on these sick individuals and our children and grandchildren wont be safe. This extra .5%% is earmarked for criminal justice, so we dont have to worry about it going where it shouldnt. This tax will be payed by everyone, not just lorain county citizens, the people coming through our county, the drug dealers buying clothes, anyone who buys something in the county will help contribute to this fund. If you spend less, you pay less. If this issue passes on November 3rd the citizens of this county will NOT be let down.
