Dog shelter in Oberlin |
 |
Message: |
There is an animal shelter in Oberlin. A lot
of people don't know that, even those living
in town. It has been around since the early
1990s,when a college student got OASIS
(Oberlin Aid to Strays in DistresS) started as
a no-kill shelter. It's a dog shelter and currently
has about 30. Thirty wonderful dogs waiting for a forever home.
The dogs are well cared for by some volunteers
but OASIS can always use more help. It can be for one or two mornings a week, from 7:30 or 8 am until about 10 am. Afternoon hours could be
worked out and so could being put on an emergency sub list.
The more people that the dogs come
in contact with, the better. Just a few hours a week really, feeding, playing with, hugging, and hopefully walking the dogs. The dogs could really use some strong men
to walk them since many are large, plus they need contact with men since currently all the volunteers are women.
Won't anybody please consider helping out?
The website is http://www.oasisanimalshelter.com/ and
there are pictures of some of the dogs. The
number to call is 440-775-4101. Leave a message about making
a visit to see the dogs or to help out in some way. You can also
email with any questions to Oasis@wmconnect.com.
Caring for these rescued dogs is a very worthwhile endeavor. |
