Advance Cost & Fees

ALL TRYOUTS: A Tryout Fee of $15.00 is to cover gym rental and insurance costs to determine player selections for the Advance Volleyball JO (Club) Teams.

GENERAL PLAYER SELECTION:

If you have been selected to play for the Advance Program. All Advance Rules must be agreed upon by Parents & Athletes before your official commitment.  You will then be given a contract in which you have a limited number of days to make an official commitment.  Your official commitment my be made by e-mail, or signed Player's Contract handed or mailed to our Advance Management.

Type of TEAMS Advance will carry:

In addition to our regional teams we will house one American team for our 13s, 14s, 15s, 16s & 17s age groups.  18's Regional Team - There is plenty of competition at the Regional level and a lot more options for tournaments for the 18s Regional teams.  With that said,  Advance will continue to keep our 18s at a regional level.  It just gives us better scheduling options.

Recommendations for Tryouts:

We recommend each player will tryout for their designated age group or grade accordingly.  Our staff and your performance during tryouts will determine contracts for an American selection Team or even asked to move up an Age group.   If you were fortunate to have qualified or bumped up a grade level, you will receive a contract stating just that.  After the tryouts, we will pull these players aside and explain their options (Read Contract Options).

Special Note 1:  Again, since we cannot predict the quantity or quality of players trying out, we cannot confirm how many and what level of teams we will have.  We are very confident that advance will have a Minimum of 2 teams at each Regional age division, and house only one each of the 11s & Under and 18s teams.  In addition with the American teams.

Special Note 2:  If you tried out in one of the first tryouts for your age group and received a Regional contract; remember, Advance needs to evaluate a ton of players at the following tryout's.  You could possibly receive a call later and be placed on a American team or grade higher  !!

Options if selected for American Contract:

During tryouts, If you have been selected to play for an "American TEAMS": then you have a couple of options.

NO. 1 Option)  You can accept the American Team offer that will be a longer and more committed season (time & cost), and you can read about the differences on the "Cost & Fees" and "Tryouts" buttons on the top of the page.

NO. 2 Option)  After evaluating the commitment & cost of an American Team and it is to much of a commitment, the player may opt for for the more inexpensive Regional team of the same age group.

NO. 3 Option)  The parents may still want the Regional Commitment instead of the American team commitment because of Other Sport commitments & Costs.

(note; this option is only decided by parents and directors).

Final Option)  If the parents feel that these choices are unreasonable,  They can consult  with the directors and be released to go try and play for another club.  (again this has to be passed by director and parents).

Coaches for each Age Group:

We will be assigning some coaches but Unfortunately we well not be able to assign all coaches until we pick teams and determine what schools the athletes are from.   We have to hold to the Ohio High School Athletic Association rules and to do that, the teams are picked first and then the coaches placed..  Sorry about that.  However, this year we will are in the process of getting all of our coaches' Bios on line along with the for sure coaches that can be pre-signed per age group..

18s Team - New Approach this year

Advance Volleyball 18 Regional Team Format

We are always trying to improve the experience of all of our players and we feel this is the right approach for this age group. We look forward to working with any players that might be interested in this flexible situation.

The 2012 season for the Advance 18 Regional Team will be different than years past. In order to allow our 18's to have more flexibility in their busy Senior year we will increase the number of players, reduce the cost and the number of practices per week. Players will also be "scheduled" to participate in tournaments throughout the season. This is being done to offer a situation that fits in with Seniors activities at school and allows them to practice and compete all the while being able to enjoy ALL of the other activities they are involved in. Following is a specific description for this teams make-up, playing and practice parameters.

  1. 10-12 players selected for team. Multiple players in each position.

  2. 5-6 practices before first tournament, then 1 practice per week during season. All players are asked to attend every practice, just like all other Advance teams.

  3. 7-9 playing dates including OVR Championships in Columbus.

  4. 9-10 players will be "scheduled" for each seasonal tournament with all players welcome to attend the OVR Championships. This allows for 2-3 players to "take the tournament off" and allow more playing time for players scheduled. If a player has a conflict they have the option of trading with another player in their position.

  5. Non-scheduled players have the option of attending tournaments to spend time with the team but no playing time should be expected.

 Payment schedule

  • 1st: We ask that half of the Club fee be paid with the Signing of the Player's Contract, or no later then our Club Meeting & Uniform Fitting

  • 2nd: The BALANCE of the Club fee is due after the holidays and should be paid in full prior to and/or by January 15th, 2011.

tournament issues - Note

Last year we had a couple of teams that had Tournaments, "Cancelled" at the Latter part of the JO Season.  If this should occur during the upcoming seasons, here is our procedure.

What does this mean to us Players, Parents and Teams?  As Directors, we have to select tournaments in Nov & December prior to the season!  The Governing rules have us committed to those tourneys.  Meaning, we just can not hop from one tourney to another if another tourney is added or found around the same time that may fit our needs better;  If we did "Cancel" or "Drop Out"!  Our Club would automatically lose any tourney fees paid & possibly get sanctioned or fined in addition.   Again, these tourneys must be prepaid well before we play!

In the past, tourney drop outs and cancellations was almost never heard of, however, last year it drastically changed.   There are many political "Issues" why this is happening and its not our clubs fault, however last year our club and teams that did suffer the burden. Again, because of the complexity of this issues, I will not go into them.   Advance will always try to fulfill our our tourneys and have always done so in the past..  However; last year a few of the tourneys that were "cancelled" for one reason or other, happened near the end of our season.  When this happened, it was impossible to find other tourneys to replace them.   If this situation comes up from now on, we may have to go outside "our philosophy" and travel a good portion over 2 hours to a tourney.   Again, if nothing is available and we can lock down a facility, we will run our own "In-house draw tournament" for the girls of that age.  This will count or replace a "Tournament Date" or "Play Day".  If we are put in a situation where we have no options to replace or run an in-house draw tourney because it being late in the season, then we will just have to concede that "Play Date".  Note:  No refunds or pro-rating will be available for any of the club teams that are affected in this manner.

Cost & Fees

* Play Day:    A Play Day represents a Day of tournament play.  Some tourneys are 2 consecutive day that represents one tournament, however counts for 2 play Days..  They cost is always Double or more then a one day tournament.
