Pathways, Lorain County's only not-for-profit, faith-based counseling facility, has been providing quality counseling in Lorain County for 26 years to children, teens and adults, often on a sliding-scale based on a client's ability to pay. The Center consistently rates at or above 95% in health care reviews and audits, including in client satisfaction surveys. Pathways is able to offer counseling services to privately-insured individuals as well as Medicaid clients. In addition, Pathways is listed as an approved provider of mental health services as part of the employee assistance programs provided by several Lorain County employers. Pathways clients typically include: - parents (single, divorced or couples) trying to juggle schedules, learn parenting strategies, or work through relationship issues; - individuals suffering from stress or anxiety disorders; - teens learning time-management and study skills or dealing with peer pressure; - couples beginning their life together, as well as already-married couples seeking to improve their life together; - persons with behavioral issues; - individuals experiencing life transitions (aging, unemployment, retirement, care of aging parents, etc.) - those who need help setting--and reaching--goals; - persons with anger issues or substance addiction - individuals experiencing lack of fulfillment - those who are grieving the loss of someone or something important to them; and, - others who need the change in their lives that a little hope can bring. Pathways offers counseling for couples, individuals and families. In addition, clients are always given the option of adding a spiritual component to their treatment if that is important to them.
